ONCE MORE INTO THE ABYSS

Just keep repeating to yourself ~ this is the last time . . . this is the last time . . . in this piece of junk stadium, that I, for one, am ashamed to have the great name of TEXAS attached to.

But before that ~ last Sunday at FedEx Field we got some more of the action that we enjoyed so much at the end of the victory over the Saints as our Redskins handled the previously-unbeaten Arizona Cardinals to move to 2-1 on the young season, winning 24 -17.  The  Offense was capably led by Jason Campbell, who looked very comfortable and in control, whether he was passing or showing us a little something with his legs as he ran for a couple of first downs by himself.  Cooley was a big player in the game, providing the spark with a number of drive-continuing catches, and the receiving corps produced on all levels.  All in all, a very balanced distribution of the ball.  The defense played well, keeping the vaunted offensive weapons of Warner and the Redbirds in check for most of the game.  It was not without a cost, however, as Jason Taylor will miss his inaugural Cowboys game due to a problem with blood pooling in his calf after being kicked during the battle on Sunday.

But the victory over the Cardinals was something we all expected.  Now comes the Main Course -- the 3–0 Cowgirls in the Swan Song Visit of our ‘Skins to the Irving House of Horrors.  This stadium is an embarrassment to the NFL, and it is about time it was condemned and demolished.  So let’s start the demolition a little early by sticking a pin the collective Cowgirls’ balloon!  Their defense finally showed up against the Packers on Sunday night, and their offense has been clicking from the word go, so consequently they are already reserving their Hotel Rooms for Tampa in February.

The quick release that Coach Zorn has been stressing to Jason will be doubly important this week as the Cowgirls defense CAN BE BEATEN as long as you STAY PATIENT!  Just move the ball down the field with the quick slant to Moss and Randle-El, and with Cooley in the seam after keeping them honest with a nice dose of Portis.

But we can’t get too conservative with these guys because if we go one dimensional like the Packers did Sunday night, they will wear us down and pull away.  We are big Underdogs in this tilt, and the “Myopic Cretinous Pinheads” that are the normal inhabitants of the “Cave Known as Texas Stadium” will be very vocal using the three or four words of intelligible English they can speak, so it is imperative we get off to a nice steady productive start ~ work the ball down the field, finish the drives, and give them nothing to cheer about when we have the ball.  This is the kind of game where Chris Samuels needs to PROVE why he got those trips to the Pro Bowl.  Jon Jansen should be anchoring the other side for the injured Stephon Heyer, so we will have experience on the line . . . they will have to really perform and give Jason some time to work if we are to have a fighting chance.

We CAN win this game ~~ we have the talent AND the kind of offense that can move the ball against them ~~ we just have to take advantage of the opportunities that are afforded us!
