A Very Enjoyable Bye Week . . .

Well, our Redskins finally showed up at Texas Stadium . . . for the last 3:46 of the Monday Night Extravaganza against the hated Cowboys! Throughout the game, the offense showed a whole lot of nothing. But then, at the end, we finally used Santana Moss the way he is supposed to be used . . . GO DEEP! The result was a very enjoyable party in the parking lot and a whole bunch of depressed Cowboy fans ~~ while we got to walk around with a first place smile on our faces for two weeks!

But it is time to get back to work this Sunday as the Seattle Seahawks travel across the country to do battle with the Redskins in Fed Ex Field. The Seahawks bring with them the formidable running attack of Shaun Alexander who, after a tough opening weekend loss at Jacksonville, has ripped off two consecutive 100+ yard games in wins that have the Seahawks in first place of the NFC West. The passing attack of the Hawks is a bit more focused as well, with the departure of perennial disappointment Koren Robinson. Bobby Engram is providing a nice compliment to Darrell Jackson, so their offense will provide a definite test for the Skins' vaunted defense. The Hawks' run defense is not stellar, so Clinton Portis should find some room to run ~~ but they do pressure the QB, with 9 sacks already this year! ................................John Priddy

BURGUNDY & GOLD FANTASY LEAGUE UPDATE

Burgundy & Gold Fantasy Wrap-up:
Week #2:
lIn a rematch of last years' Super Bowl, Calley’s Allstars (John Priddy) continued their early season success with the high score of the week, defeating Unsung Heroes (John Domin) with strong showings by Carson Palmer and Randy Moss. The Heroes’ Kerry Collins points were negated by the "Moss Factor," and Fast Willie Parker's contributions were overshadowed by Shaun Alexander’s "Good Day" for Calley's.
lHellFish (Matt Goldie) also continued their early season turnaround as they squeaked by TDsnDC (Carl Murphy), even though both Daunte Culpepper and Drew Brees were absolutely wretched.
lThe Redskins (Linda Domin) rode LJ Smith (32 points) to victory over the Aquabats (Josh Beckett).
l70-Chip (Kenn Jackson) benefited greatly from the Packers playing from behind as Brett Favre gave them 41 points in their win over Jerry’s 421 (Mary Priddy).
lGame Over (Danny Zegan) thoroughly enjoyed the Eagles 42-3 drubbing of the 49ers as the Philly defense gave him 33 points in his division win over Primetime (Rodney Twyman).

Week #3:
After some very low scores in Week 2, the offenses ruled the roost again in Week 3, with every victory being over 120 points.
lHellfish (Matt Goldie) fell from the ranks of the unbeaten as Jerry’s 421 (Mary Priddy) got solid performances up and down the roster to inch by the Fish 157 to 150.
lGame Over (Danny Zegan) also tasted defeat for the first time this year as the Redskins (Linda Domin) rode Ladanian Tomlinson to victory with 55 points from the San Diego Stud alone.
lLast year's champs, Unsung Heroes (John Domin), finally got off the schneid with a doubling-up of TDsnDC (Carl Murphy), with a strong performance from the Bucs' defense and Kerry Collins. Immediately following this game, the coach of TDsnDC stepped down and turned over gameday control to his son…..more on this development in the coming weeks.
l70-Chip (Kenn Jackson) overcame a strong charge by the Aquabats (Josh Beckett) to win their game and climb to the top of the Gold Conference.
lCalley’s Allstars (John Priddy) remained undefeated and continued his string of 3 straight High Score Awards as the dynamic duo of Shaun Alexander and Brian Westbrook combined for mucho points as Calley's smacked Primetime (Rodney Twyman) 180 to 67 to stay in control of the Burgundy Conference.

Standings:
Burgundy Conference Gold Conference
Calley’s Allstars 3 - 0 70Chip 2 - 1
Hellfish 2 - 1 Game Over 2 - 1
Redskins 2 - 1 Jerry’s 421 2 - 1
Aquabats 0 - 3 Primetime 1 - 2
TDsnDC 0 - 3 Unsung Heroes 1 - 2
