That was the Appetizer . . .
Now for the Main Course!

The Washington Redskins put on an offensive clinic on Sunday against the hapless San Fran 49ers ~52 to 17 ~ much to the delight of the Burgundy & Gold Faithful at FedEx field and across the country! Mark Brunell continued his resurgence, tossing 3 TD passes and enabling Clinton Portis to finally get into the Endzone, times three! The defense finally got Lavar Arrington on the field and he did not disappoint, making 7 tackles and generally being a disruptive influence.

This week starts an important 3 game swing through the NFC with 2 games within the Division. The New York Football Giants are first on the plate, with Eli Manning proving why he was taken so high in the draft a couple of years ago.  He is lighting it up, and will pose a stiff test to our defense.  Plaxico Burress is doing what he was never able to do in Pittsburgh . . . stay healthy . . . and he has quickly become Eli’s go-to guy.  Jeremy Shockey is also still heavily in the mix in the Big Apple, and always has to be accounted for.  Tiki Barber has been de-emphasized, now that they have a legitimate passing attack, but is still a dangerous shifty back.  The Giants' defense against the pass has been pretty porous (average 296 yards allowed), so Brunell and My Man Santana Moss should have another productive day.  This game is getting a lot of hype and is the National Game on Fox this week, so it is a good opportunity to show the world what the 2005 Washington Redskins are made of.
                                                                                                    .......................................John Priddy
P.S.  Even though the game is televised, it's so much better watching together with our great group of fans!

BURGUNDY & GOLD FANTASY LEAGUE UPDATE ~ Week #7

Calley’s Allstars (John Priddy) were finally knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten by Jerry' 421 (Mary Priddy) as Carson Palmer and Shaun Alexander failed Calley's Allstars, and Mark Brunell came through for Jerry’s 421 (getting beaten by Brunell having a great day is not too tough to take).
70-Chip (Ken Jackson) pulled into a tie for the best record by beating TDsnDC (Carl Murphy) on the strength of Brett Favre and Santana Moss.
Unsung Heroes (John Domin) crushed the Redskins (Linda Domin), but lost another key player as Robert Ferguson went down with an injury.
Hellfish (Matt Goldie) rode the back of Clinton Portis to victory over Game Over (Danny Zegan).
The Aquabats (Josh Becker) got their first victory of the year over Primetime (Rodney Twyman) as the Falcons' defense destroyed Vinnie and the Jets on Monday night. The Aquabats also made a midweek trade, picking up some much needed running back help in Brian Westbrook and Stephen Davis after losing Ahman Green on Sunday to injury.

Standings after Week 7:

Burgundy Division Gold Division
Calley’s Allstars 6 - 1 70-Chip 6 - 1
The Redskins 4 - 3 Jerry's 421 4 - 3
HellFish 4 - 3 Unsung Heroes 4 - 3
TDsnDC 1 - 6 Game Over 3 - 4
The Aquabats 1 - 6 Primetime 2 - 5
