Classic NFC East Battle . . . What a game! . . . What a game!

This was a good old fashioned NFC Clash in front of 91,000 screaming fans at FedEx Field AND in front of a National TV audience Sunday night. Our Redskins picked themselves off of the turf after the Giants fiasco and beat the Defending NFC Champions on both sides of the ball to win the game and position themselves firmly in second place! Gregg Williams’ defense patched the holes that allowed Tiki Barber to run wild at the Meadowlands and held the Eagles running game in check ... especially on the left side of the line! The Eagles attacked it early . . . and were DENIED!! The Philly defense took away the "Santana Factor" to some degree, but Mark Brunell took advantage of the underneath stuff that he was given and put together a couple of impressive drives. Kicker John Hall returned to duty and did what he needed to do to contribute to the win. Lavar Arrington continued his return to the lineup with a couple of strong stops.

This week we travel to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Bucs at Raymond James Stadium. The Bucs are a dangerous team, but are experiencing some Quarterback troubles at the moment, with Chris Simms taking over for the injured Brian Griese. I never thought I would be writing that a team missed the leadership of Brian Griese, but they have been much less productive since he went out. Rookie Cadillac Williams has been a strong Back for them when on the field, but injuries have limited him greatly in his initial campaign. Ex-Cowboy Joey Galloway is their go-to guy, but young Wideout Michael Clayton is also dangerous on the other side. They have a lot of weapons but just need a QB to pull it all together . . . and so far ex-Longhorn Chris Simms is failing in that respect.

Let's keep the trend going and stay in the thick of the NFC Eastern Division race!
