Washington REDSKINS @ San Francisco 49ers
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 18, 2004 ~ 4:00 P.M.
Austin Avenue Grill & Sports Bar

A n a d m i r a b l e E f f o r t!

Well, again we stayed competitive with the best team in the NFC (record-wise) ~~ this time until way late in the game. But a late interception in the endzone derailed our upset hopes, and assured us of a losing record in 2004. However, all is not lost because the offense looks like it is making some progress, and Patrick Ramsey will only get better as he gets more work in Coach Gibbs' system. The defense continued their stellar play and might actually get a boost this week as LaVar Arrington is rumored to be ready to play again! Also, on the defensive side of the ball, anyone who ever tells me that Shawn Springs is fragile is gonna get some serious dirty looks from me, because anyone who can take a hit like he took late in the game and still be at work the next day is OK in my book!

This Saturday we get another chance on the national stage as everyone can step down from shopping to watch the Redskins travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers, who are struggling as of late. It's a 4:00 kickoff, so come on out to Austin Avenue and share some Christmas Cheer with The Burgundy & Gold Family!

Cool Skins Holiday Stuff!
Decorations / Ornaments / Stocking Stuffers

Last year, the Hogettes began what we hoped would be a yearly event by joining the B&Gold Fan Club for the Redskins v. Dallas game, preceeded by several children's charity events. Sadly, this year's game schedule is not "Hogette-travel-friendly!" However, in an effort to keep the tradition alive in some way, and to thank the Hogettes for all their support and charity work, the B&G Fan Club will be donating 50% of the proceeds of last week's raffle and this week's raffle to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children on behalf of the Hogettes! In addition, Bryan Capps (Austin Avenue Owner) has agreed to add to that donation to support the B&G Club's efforts. So let's all take a break from the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping, come on out to this Saturday's game, and help support the continued efforts of the Hogettes Children's Charity work!

REMEMBER ~ Trading is ALWAYS acceptable AND encouraged!
But you don't have to limit your trading to that day's raffle items . . .

Redskins Trivia!

Week 14 Trivia Winner ~ Kenn & Brayden Jackson!
(Remember: "Tom Tupa" is always an acceptable default answer!)

The first round was a barnburner ~ both Wild Card games came down to the Monday night tilt between the Titans and the Chiefs.

In the Burgundy Conference, Calley's Allstars (John Priddy, owner) avenged last week's "McNabb-Led-Spanking" by beating the Redskins (Linda Domin, owner) with a Monday night explosion by Tennessee WR Drew Bennett.

This sets up the Burgundy Conference title game between TDsnDC (Carl Murphy, owner) and Calley's Allstars. They split the regular season series, so this should be a good one as TDsnDC tries to ride the "Daunte Culpepper Train" while Calley's Allstars hope all the Culpepper TDs go to Randy Moss!

In the Gold Conference, Monday Night saw the battle between Primetime (Rodney Twyman, owner) and Unsung Heroes (John Domin, owner) go to Unsung Heroes as Tony Gonzalez and Eddie Kennison both produced, and Derrick Mason got hurt. Primetime's ride with Peyton Manning finally hit a bump as Manning picked the worst possible week to have a "Normal" 2-TD game.

Unsung Heroes is now on a 7-game win streak with already one win over his opponent this week, Game Over (Danny Zegan, owner). The trade earlier in the season that sent Marvin Harrison from the Unsung Heroes to Game Over for Curtis Martin may come back to bite Game Over as the Unsung Heroes are HOT, HOT, HOT!

The winners of this weekend's games will play in the SUPERBOWL in Week 16!

You can follow the season here.
Check out the creative Team logos, too!

Contrary to what some of you may have heard or read, the "original" Burgundy & Gold Fan Club has NOT moved! The Club's headquarters remains at Austin Avenue Grill & Sports Bar. We appreciate our members' steadfast participation and support, and we will continue our efforts to make game day the best experience for the best football fans ever!
