Washington REDSKINS at Chicago BEARS
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2004 ~ 12:00 Noon
Austin Avenue Grill & Sports Bar
Closing out the First Half on a High Note!

The game Sunday night was pretty much a microcosm of our season so far. The defense turned in another absolutely fantastic performance, keeping us in the game and leading at halftime with no help at all from the offense. But eventually the defense was worn down from being on the field constantly, and Jamal Lewis was finally able to get on track against a depleted defensive squad that lost another playmaker when Safety Matt Bowen was lost for the year with an ACL.

This week our Redskins travel to the Windy City to face another beat up team in the Bears. Coach Gibbs has repeated his belief that Mark Brunell can be successful in this offense, but you have to believe that the writing is on the wall for a QB change coming down the pike if the offensive output doesn't stop being so downright offensive! Rookie Head Coach Lovie Smith has "Da Bears" playing well, but it hasn't translated into wins yet, with their lone victory coming over the Packers in Week #2. The Bears are coming off of a bye and have had plenty of time to prepare for this game, and with star linebacker Brian Urlacher expected to make his return to the field after missing a few weeks with injuries, this game will be a stiff test before the bye week for our Redskins. Coach Gibbs is known for his ability to make adjustments, so the bye is coming at a good time to get us on track for the second half of the season and a push to the playoffs.

REDSKINS @ COWBOYS ~ December 26, 2004

The B&G Fan Club has recently received information concerning ticket sales. It seems that the "powers that be" for the Cowboys have decided not to let any outside organizations sell their tickets. This means that the only way to get tickets is through the Cowboys Ticket Office. The last "package" offered to us was either upper level endzone @ $37.00 or lower level @ $57.00 (not behind the goal, but to the side). This will include a ticket to an upcoming Arena Football game (whether we want it or not). This "package" will be confirmed within the next few days, and further information about purchasing your tickets will be sent out as soon as that confirmation is received.

For those of us who are not traveling for the holidays and planning to attend the game, it would be great to try to all sit together and, of course, plan a super holiday tailgate!

HAIL to our new Burgundy & Gold Fan Club Members!

Redskins Trivia!
This Week -- A ''TRIVIA TWIST'' inspired by TOM TUPA!

The "Bye Week Monster" figured prominently in this weekend's action.

Game Over (Danny Zegan, owner), the remaining unbeaten team, was finally deposed by Jerry's 421 (Mary Priddy, owner) as 4 of Game Over's best players (T.O., Priest, Griffin and Thomas Jones were on bye).

Jerry's 421 got 40 points from TE Eric Johnson, which didn't hurt her chances either (no one seems to be complaining that the trade was one sided now!) as she got the high score for the week.

Primetime (Rodney Twyman, owner) moved to the top of the Gold Conference with a win over the Redskins (Linda Domin, owner), who was suffering through bye-week problems without stud Donovan McNabb.

TDsnDC (Carl Murphy, owner) gained control of the Burgundy Conference riding Daunte Culpepper's huge game to victory over K.D.I. (Chad Costa / Scott Howerton, owners), who got NOTHING from Ahman Green in the Monday Night Packer massacre.

Calley's Allstars (John Priddy, owner) managed to give the Cowboys the kiss of death by starting Vinny Testaverde and still won their game against the Hellfish (Matt Goldie, owner) with help from late waiver pick-up Mewelde Moore.

Closest Game of the Week: Unsung Heroes (John Domin, owner) apparently let his homer feelings for the Packers influence his decision to not start Chris Brown at Lambeau and paid for it by watching 34 points sit on the bench as they remain winless with the loss to 70-Chip (Kenn Jackson, owner).
