Philadelphia EAGLES @ Washington REDSKINS
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2004 ~ 7:30 P.M.
Austin Avenue Grill & Sports Bar

After a couple of weeks of getting used to the different spin of the ball (right-handed QB vs. left-handed QB), and the obvious additional zip on the ball, the Redskins receivers responded by NOT dropping any passes from Patrick Ramsey on Sunday at Fed Ex Field. The result was much better running lanes for Clinton Portis, and a workman-like 3-touchdown day for Ramsey in the 31- 7 whipping of the New York Football Giants, with the defense providing it's usual outstanding play. With a favorable schedule upcoming after this Sunday night, an 8-8 record is not out of the question. More importantly, however, is the idea that if we finish consistent, we just might have an off-season without any turmoil or massive changes! What a change that would be . . . for us AND for the Team!

This Sunday night brings our last game in the National Spotlight for 2004 as the Philadelphia "Egos" come to DC in a rematch of a couple of weeks ago. We were in that 1st game until the third quarter series, where we self-destructed, so I know we can hang with these guys. If we stick with the game plan and efficiency that we showed against the Giants, who knows what can happen! ........................................John Priddy

The regular season came to a close this week, with a number of playoff spots not being decided until late Monday Night.

Comeback of the Year - Unsung Heroes (John Domin, owner) finished off Jerry's 421 (Mary Priddy, owner) in a winner-take-all game for the last playoff spot in the Gold Conference. Jerry's 421 mounted a furious comeback on the arm of Matt Hasselbeck, but came up short.

The Redskins (Linda Domin, owner) spanked Calley's Allstars (John Priddy, owner) on the strength of the freakish performances of Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook in their rout of the Packers.

K.D.I. (Chad Costa/Scott Howerton, owners) didn't take advantage of the Calley's Allstars loss, however, missing out on the playoffs by falling to Hellfish (Matt Goldie, owner) who benefited mightily from the great play of Clinton Portis.

In a matchup of the two number-one seeds, Game Over (Danny Zegan, owner) topped TDsnDC (Carl Murphy, owner).

And, finally, Primetime (Rodney Twyman, owner) rode the arm of Peyton (stop-me-if-you've-heard-this-before) Manning to victory over 70-Chip (Kenn Jackson, owner), assuring 70-Chip of the 1st pick in the draft next year!

So the Playoff Action this weekend is as follows - - -

Burgundy Conference - TDsnDC gets a bye, while the REMATCH between Calley's Allstars and the Redskins is ON ON ON!! Linda will experience the pain of having her fantasy studs playing against her favorite team in a Do-or-Die fantasy situation as the McNabb/Westbrook combo goes against our Redskins Sunday night. Earlier in the season these two teams played to a tie, so this should be a close matchup.

Gold Conference - Game Over will sit with a bye, as Primetime and Unsung Heroes duke it out. The Unsung Heroes swept Primetime this year, with the last game in Week 12 being decided by less than 2 points, so this should be a good one also.
