I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that we were truly "Thankful" when Thanksgiving was over! Still, I don't think any of us expected the "giving" part of the Christmas holiday would start so soon! After outplaying the Giants in every positive category (rushing yardage; passing yardage; first downs; time of possession), we also outdid the G-Men in penalties and, most importantly, turnovers -- 5 to be exact -- the reason we lost the game! The Skins didn’t play that badly otherwise. It seems to be our calling card - gain momentum, give it away! Gain momentum, GIVE IT AWAY!!!!!

Call me crazy, but I think we have a chance to upset Philly this weekend! Coincidentally, I’m looking at City Hall in Philadelphia as I write this -- wait -- I just sang “Hail To The Redskins” out my hotel window at the top of my lungs! Really, I just did -- and I almost got hit with a snowball!!

Anyway, If we can eliminate the turnovers, idiotic penalties, and play the way we played last week, we can win. Philly is poised for an upset, and they have proven that they can play pretty poorly at times! It's the last game at the VET, and we will be pumped to close this dump with a defeat of the “Igles” (that's how they pronounce “Eagles” up here)!

"Should I Stay or Should I Go?" It seems that Marvin Lewis is a fan of The Clash as this has been his tune lately. Monday he lets his fellow coaches know that he won’t be going to Michigan State. Tuesday he says, "No comment," when asked about the job by the media. Wednesday he was reconsidering. However, on ESPNews, literally just this second (12:12 am EST), I heard John Clayton report that Lewis has broken off talks with Michigan State due to his desire to stay in the NFL and pursue a head coaching job. So at least for Thursday, he will be staying! We'll let you know what he decides on Friday!

Stephen Davis confirmed for the first time Tuesday that his 7 year stint with the Redskins is over, something we all knew for quite some time, but it's nice to finally hear it from Stephen.

PREDICTION: The Redskins will beat the Eagles! That's right, you heard it here first - from deep in the heart of Brotherly Love, Behind Enemy Lines, Live from Center City, Philadelphia - Hear Me Roar!!!!!!

Maybe it's the Zip Code talking, but I'm sticking with it!!!!

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that Art Phynes passed away last week. Art has been a member of the Burgundy & Gold Fan Club since 1997, and will be remembered for his infectious laugh and tremendous sense of humor; but most of all for his kindness. You see, it was not uncommon for Art to show up with a box filled with Redskins goodies that he picked up at the stadium in D.C., and donate it to the club to give away, or bring enough food to the tailgate party to feed the entire group! We will miss Art at Austin Avenue on Sundays, but we know he will be watching the games and cheering with us from his own special Sky Box!
